A popular southern Idaho garden destination is hosting an event that combines lights, Santa, cookies, and hot chocolate. It will also be a great opportunity to do some giving during this holiday season.

Giving to those in need is one of the most fulfilling things about the Christmas holiday. There are a number of ways people can show generosity within the community, whether it's donating money to the Red Cross, leaving blankets at the local donation center, or participating in toy drives.

The Magic Valley is home to one of the most impressive botanical gardens in the region, and it's even more enjoyable during the Christmas season.

To gain entrance to Friday's festivities, a toy for the drive is not required, but is encouraged, according to an event flier.

There will be free cookies and hot chocolate, while supplies last. A new, unwrapped toy will benefit area families, and cash donations are always appreciated as they help keep the garden operating.

Friday's celebration begins at 6 PM and runs until 8 PM. The address to the Orton Botanical Gardens, in Twin Falls, is 867 Filer Avenue West.

Bring the kids by and let them share their holiday wishes with Santa!

Seasons greetings!
