
Four Killed in Southern Idaho Weekend Crashes, Including Two Adults and Two Juveniles
Two devastating and deadly accidents happened over the weekend in Southern Idaho. Idaho State Police reported both fatal accidents on their news release page, along with initial details from the crashes.
In total, 8 people were involved in the 2 accidents, including 3 adults and 5 juveniles. An adult and a child in each of the accidents passed away at the scene of the crashes, and all other occupants were taken to local hospitals.
Similarities in Two Deadly Southern Idaho Accidents Over the Weekend
Both accidents are similar in a few ways. Each accident involved one vehicle, a pickup truck that rolled. There were four occupants in each vehicle; an adult male driver and a juvenile passenger were killed in both accidents, and two passengers were taken to the hospital from each crash.
Details from the deadly accidents in Twin Falls and Boise County can be found below and are being investigated by the Idaho State Police.
Two Killed From a Family of Four in a Car Accident in Southern Idaho
The Idaho State Police have updated their news release regarding an accident in Boise County. They originally believed the adult female had been driving the vehicle, but later determined it was the adult male who was driving. The accident happened on March 7th at 2PM on Arrowrock Road, which runs along the north side of Arrowrock Reservoir.
These are the details from the ISP report, with the updated driver details:
- A family of four from Star, Idaho, was heading North on Arrowrock Rd. in a GMC truck.
- The driver, a 38-year-old male, swerved to go around a vehicle.
- The truck got close to the edge of the road and rolled into the water.
- A 35-year-old female passenger and a juvenile were able to get out of the vehicle and were transported by ambulance to a local hospital with minor injuries.
- The driver and a second juvenile died at the scene.
Everyone in the vehicle wore seatbelts when the accident happened, and causes of death will be determined at a later time as the accident is still under investigation.
Adult Driver and Juvenile Passenger Killed in Southern Idaho Rollover Accident
A second fatal accident happened over the weekend in Twin Falls County, making this the 4th deadly accident in the area over the last two weekends. The rollover accident occurred near Buhl on March 8th, a few minutes after 6:30 PM, on E 4800 N, near N 800 E.
Police believe speed and alcohol were contributors to the deadly crash.
- A gold 2004 Dodge Ram 1500, driven by a 39-year-old male from Buhl, with three juvenile passengers, was driving westbound on 4800 N when he left the roadway, going off the right shoulder and rolling the pickup multiple times.
The driver and one passenger passed away at the scene of the accident. The other two juvenile passengers were injured, with one requiring transport by air ambulance and the other being taken in a personal vehicle to a local hospital. Only one of the juvenile occupants was wearing a seatbelt when the accident happened.
