
Juvenile on Scooter Hit By Car in Kimberly, ID, Hospitalized
A child was rushed to a Southern Idaho hospital after being hit by a car while riding a scooter in the city of Kimberly, east of Twin Falls.
The accident happened on Monday, August 3rd, around 12:45 PM at 4000 N 3552 E. Google lists that address as a home on Falls Ave. The speed limit on that section of Falls Ave. is 45 miles per hour.

The report from the Idaho State Police states:
A 2014 Ford Escape, driven by a 24-year-old female from Kimberly, was traveling westbound on 4000 N when a juvenile, also from Kimberly, entered the roadway on a scooter.
The vehicle hit the child, who sustained ‘crucial injuries’ and was taken by air ambulance to a local hospital. The driver of the car was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured in the accident.
The incident is being investigated by the Idaho State Police.

While responding to a recent house fire in Kimberly, first responders discovered a deceased body in the basement of the burning home. An investigation determined that the man, Donald Ryan Verwey, had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Authorities also believe Verwey intentionally set the house on fire and then took his own life.
